Avoiding real issues

So, I’m totally panicking about things I don’t need to panic about yet. I’m like that. It’s what I do. Anyway, to distract myself, I’m borrowing a poll from via .

1) Your first crush – who, when, why, how it ended (if it did), etc
2) The best memory from your freshman year of high school
3) The best memory from your senior year of high school
4) Your three favorite songs and what they remind you of
5) The scariest thing to happen to you before age 18
6) The scariest thing to happen to you since
7) A summer camp reminiscence, or if you didn’t do camp, a summer story
8) Your first job and what sucked about it, and what didn’t
9) What you would do for a living if there were no obstacles (i.e. school, family, salary)
10) Your craziest vacation ever
11) Of all your ages so far, which was the best and why?
12) Which was the worst?
13 Someone you used to be good friends with or even love, who you don’t anymore, because they were lame and ruined the whole thing

1) Your first crush – who, when, why, how it ended (if it did), etc
Nick Galapagos – 3rd grade…I still have the unicorn he won for me at the school fair. It ended because we were in 3rd grade. Good lord, we had the attention span of ants. ;)

2) The best memory from your freshman year of high school
I got a 64 1/2 Mustang…but the 6 cylinder engine had been replaced with a 351 Windsor…411 rear end gears…that baby would flat out haul. (Having a daddy who builds NASCAR engines does come in handy during the teenage racing years.) I loved that car so much.

3) The best memory from your senior year of high school
Went to the prom with an Air Force test pilot. (OK, he was my best friends brother…but nobody knew that.)

4) Your three favorite songs and what they remind you of

5) The scariest thing to happen to you before age 18
True story: I’d run away from home…I was about 12. I was in a very, very bad neighborhood, and this little VW pulled up and the little harmless looking guy inside offered me a ride to wherever I wanted to go. I totally got the creeps from him, and backed away through a crack house to get away. Turns out…the guy was Ted Bundy. Creepy, no?

6) The scariest thing to happen to you since
Yeah…not much compares, really. I live an incredibly blessed life. Nothing has ever been handed to me that I can’t handle…it’s just a matter of figuring out how.

7) A summer camp reminiscence, or if you didn’t do camp, a summer story
Yeah…girl scout camp. spent a lot of time trying to get to the boy scout camp across the lake. Never fulfilled. Many teen movies made of same. Sigh.

8) Your first job and what sucked about it, and what didn’t
Denny’s. Everything. Nothing.

9) What you would do for a living if there were no obstacles (i.e. school, family, salary)
Own a bordello. In Amsterdam. And Spain…for the winter. I mean, I’m not stupid.

10) Your craziest vacation ever
Bahamas. 15 girl Scouts. 1 sail boat. No adults. My parent’s beach house. I leave the rest to your imagination.

11) Of all your ages so far, which was the best (i.e. for me it was 16 or 27, still deciding) and why?
Every year surprises me. I haven’t had a best yet. I expect that they’ll just keep getting better.

12) Which was the worst? (17 or 19 for me)
See above…every year provides catastrophic disasters. Accept, deal, hope for better.

13 Someone you used to be good friends with or even love, who you don’t anymore, because they were lame and ruined the whole thing

Colin. You fucking bastard! You killed yourself rather than let us find you help. Cause, yeah…the rest of us really wanted to deal with your snarky ghost for the next 60 years. You snobby little limey undead ….goddamn it, I still miss you. And would you please stop haunting the sugar bowl, it does so make company nervous. I’ve cleared a nice tea canister for you…fresh PG Tips…you know you want them…
