Katrina’s impact being felt across business lines too

The stuff has always been insanely expensive, but after Katrina, essential oil prices have doubled, or tripled in some cases. I’m guessing that since there’s a limited amount of a lot of essentials, and most of them were imported into New Orleans, we lost a few warehouses full of oils. Anyway, I was doing inventory, and figuring out what I needed to order for the holiday season, and was trying to find a rose geranium that I’d smelled before, and on the “rose” search page, rose otto came up…$4,000 a pound. Four grand. Wow. Anyone want a $90.00 bar of soap? Anyone? No? Hmmm…. No, I thought not.

I don’t feel too bad about the crazy prices of my other essentials right at this moment. ;)
