As you may know, Cindy Sheehan was arrested at the SOTU speech, for wearing a shirt that said “2245 Dead. How many more?” She’s not alone in being arrested for silently expressing sentiments against the current regime. Today, The Capitol Police are dropping all charges against Sheehan because, as they admit, they never should have removed or arrested her because she broke no laws or rules. Special shout out to Glenn Greenwald, a First Amendment attorney, who has been tracking a lot of abuses of civil liberties by this administration, and from whom I first heard about the capital police admitting that Mrs. Sheehan did nothing illegal.
Oh…and a real giggle: One day
after President Bush vowed to reduce America’s dependence on Middle
East oil by cutting imports from there 75 percent by 2025, his energy
secretary and national economic adviser said Wednesday that the
president didn’t mean it literally.
