So, a few weeks ago, Man put a hot pizza box on the coffee table, and it left a massive, huge, OMG white stain on the table. I tried everything to get rid of it. Nothing worked. I figured I was going to have to get rid of the table. So sad.
Then scanning through woodworking forums, I saw a suggestion that I thought might just be crazy enough to work. This furniture maker said to get a white tea towel, and an iron. Set the iron on medium, warm enough to steam, but not too hot. Put the tea towel over the stain, and iron for a few seconds, repeating as necessary until the stain was gone.
Darned if it didn’t work! The stain is gone! My table is saved! My ladies brunch can go forward without the shame and embarrassment of blotchy furniture. (OK…I’m just being silly there….my ladies brunch are all women with children. White stains are the least of our embarrassing stains. Hell, I have a magic marker Picasso on one wall…kids, everything is a canvas to them…)
Still! Whoo hoo! That stain has been making me crazy every time I looked at it. Yay!
